I’ve been a fan of MGMT since I saw the video of a guy dancing to Electric Feel with his super crazy dance moves…  The song All We Ever Wanted is taken from MGMT’s contribution to the Late Night Tales series.  The video is a visual journey into the creative minds of Ned Wenlock and Rodney Selby who Directed and Animated the video respectively.

I love character design. One of the things I love most about Hamburger Disco is working on and exploring all of the cool characters we’ve got in our little world – like the fast food robot Fryman, and the Feed Me workers.

There’s nothing better than the fusion of great music, slick animation, and even better character design. This music video checks all three boxes.

So yesterday’s Vancouver rain definitely made it clear that August is over and the colder Months are upon us,  so this song is maybe 2 months too late…but it made me smile nonetheless!  The video editing and the typography you see in the video is by design house Non-Format.  Their creative direction is the style I love to see on ads and media.

So I stumbled upon this awesome track while looking for new music and to my surprise it came with an equally awesome Esquire video.  The girl dancing in the video is English model Daisy Lowe (daughter of Gavin Rossdale, Bush frontman, married to Gwen Stefani).  I don’t know what I like more now, the song or the hypnotizing dancing from Miss Lowe…

If you like beautiful women shot in High Definition then definitely check out Greg Williams’ channel on Vimeo.  He’s a photographer for Esquire and has worked with Megan Fox and my personal favourite, Kate Beckinsale (sexiest woman alive, very hot video).

So Hamburger Disco has been busy lately with small side projects and we recently decided to step into the realm of film making.  Short Films to be more accurate.  The name of the producer/director should be a bit familiar with a few HD fans as he is none other than Hamburger Disco’s very own male model!  Who knew there’s a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?

Mattias plays the nerd who falls in love with a girl and does what he can to impress her.  The lovely Christine, Hamburger Disco’s Photographer, plays the love interest.  Chock full of cameos (justalilhype! JuicyJay! Exp0 86!) and accompanied by quite possibly the most well-known Motown hits of the 60′s this film is sure to warm your hearts!

I’ve always wanted to draw on my walls.  I was one of those kids growing up who would get in crap for drawing with crayons, my favorite canvas? walls.  It just made sense, white walls needed colour.  In comes the Digital Graffiti Wall.  It’s surely something to entertain the guests.

“We keep on making the graffiti wall better and better. This is a little demo of the new stencils module we have added to it. We shot this video at Draw by Night, a Vancouver event organized my Myron Campbell. Visuals also by Myron.”

Dead All Along is an animated short that really puts you in the Halloween mood. “Enchanted by a pixie, a child called Yorick enters a magical kingdom, but when Yorick returns he finds his world ravaged by time.”
The music video is set in a hand drawn pen and ink world inspired by Edward Gorey and animated in a cut-out style. Compositing and animation in After Effects. Made at the Animation Workshop at UCLA’s Department of Theater, Film and Television, 2009

Cat Piano is an animated short film by The People’s Republic of Animation.  Currently it has been getting a lot of recognition from short film festivals in Australia and has been garnering attention on the web.

The animation style is really cool.  According to their website the whole film was animated by hand in Adobe Photoshop using Wacom tablets.  With the background poem resembling something like Edgar Allen Poe, its definitely a must see.

We’re really big fans of stop motion here at HamburgerDisco and when I found this video on the net it had an added bonus.  The original song is really old but it sticks out because  it’s this really annoying song that my best friend always sings when he’s had too many drinks.  Something he grew up with I guess.  The other video is also stop motion with a Baile Funk song accompanied with a DJ Pad made out of french toast crunch cereal.  Pretty neat stuff…
