The 3rd annual Y57 Media Battle of the Bands is here again folks!  Hamburger Disco is proud to be a platinum sponsor once more for this great event and we would love it if everyone came out to support local talent.  Y57 Media are offering great prizes this year for not just the winning band but also audience prizes as well!

The winning group will receive the grand prize worth over $1000 including:

  • One Y57 show devoted to the band that includes a live on-air interview with members and live performance segments dispersed throughout 57 minutes of broadcast time
  • 10 hours of recording time at The Hive Recording Studios (valued at $450)
  • T-shirts for entire band designed and printed by Hamburger Disco
  • A feature article and photo shoot by TheModline.com
  • Movie vouchers from the Rio Theatre
  • Hair and makeup services for the photo shoot from London School of Hair (valued at $100)
  • One free oil change from ABC Main Auto Centre

Who: Youth in 57 Minutes on CFRO Co-op Radio, 102.7FM
Where: The Rio Theatre 1660 East Broadway, Vancouver, BC (Corner of Broadway and Commercial Dr.)
When: Thursday, August 25th, 2010, 6:00PM – 11:00PM
Description: Music professionals and city officials, with the help of the public through an applause meter voting system, will help determine who will be this year’s Battle of the Bands winner. The winning band will be announced at the end of the event.

Tickets: Tickets are available online for $15 and through any Y57 producer with 100% of proceeds going to the volunteer-run Y57 show.

A handful of some of Vancouver’s best artists (and us) are releasing a batch of new tees inspired by Vancouver. We took our inspiration from the crazy number of “All You Can Eat” places in Vancouver. Here’s our design:

We hit the streets that night to party with what seemed like the entire city. It was like the Olympics all over again. Check out the recap by our friends at Vancity Buzz. Oh what a night.

After much anticipation and a lot of hard work, Hamburger Disco opened it’s doors on Saturday April 9, 2011.  We had a great turnout with a line up of people showing up at 11am!

Hamburger Disco would like to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who came to support us on our grand opening.  We definitely would not have been able to make it happen without all the help we’ve received.

We’d also like to remind everyone that we’ll be releasing WEEK 2 of the Vancouver Artist Series this Saturday April 16!  The preview will be up sooner than you think!
